https://amam.oberlin.edu/eventsElena Pakhoutova, Senior Curator of Himalayan Art at The Rubin Museum of Art in New York will discuss recent works by Mongolian artist Uuriintuya Dagvasambuu. The artist’s conceptually rich visual vocabulary seamlessly integrates traditional and contemporary pictorial elements to express relevant stories to which anyone can relate. Given the universal themes found in her art, international audiences can understand her visual narratives. They require no translation, but including the artist’s voice helps to interpret some of her encoded visions which will be explored during the presentation.
