About this Event
77 West College Street, Oberlin, OH 44074
Shirley Graham Du Bois ’34 was an Oberlin alumna, composer, playwright, biographer, nation builder, and activist. She was one of the first black women to stage an opera in the United States and one of the earliest black women musicologists.
The Shirley Graham Du Bois Salon will revisit the musical and intellectual legacy she honed as an Oberlin student and carried forward throughout the rest of her life.
This event is held in conjunction with the fall 2019 StudiOC cluster, The Student as Artist and Intellectual: Gleaning from the Legacy of Shirley Graham Du Bois.
