In this Allen Online program, a video created by the National Museum of Korea, focuses on two Oberlin alumni who donated an intricately painted folding screen to the Allen in 1933. Discover the history behind A Royal Outing, an 18th-19th century work that was recently restored by the National Museum using traditional Korean methods. Then it was displayed in Korea, drawing over 80,000 visitors even though museum attendance was limited due to the pandemic.
Repairs were done through a conservation grant from the National Museum of Korea (NMK) Overseas Galleries Support Program.
The video will appear in the Allen's Facebook feed and on our Vimeo page. Contact the Education Department at 440-775-8671 with any questions.
