About this Event
For almost two decades the Translation Symposium has been the intellectual and creative high point of the Oberlin academic year. It is a fast-paced, multilingual event that introduces and celebrates literary works from over a dozen languages.
This year the presenters will join the symposium via Zoom and the event will be streamed on YouTube. The event ID will be shared a few days before the event.
The symposium is named for Deppman, the Irvin E. Houck Professor of Comparative Literature and English, who conceived and organized the symposium. He taught at Oberlin for 15 years beginning in 2003. He died in 2019.
