Kulas Recital Hall, Conservatory Central Unit
77 West College Street, Oberlin, OH 44074

A concert performance by conservatory students and faculty.

6:30 PM – Kulas Recital Hall

Featuring a wonderful concert by flutists and pianists involved in the 19th-Century French Flute Extravaganza making use of our Broadwood Fortepiano from 1860. All of the original musical sources are from the Selch Collection or the collection of Michael Lynn. There will be several lectures, an exhibition, and a concert. Students in the project will be coached by Lynn, Still, and Breitman throughout the semester and will be performing from copies of the original music editions. Although extremely popular during its time, most of this repertoire is unknown today.

This is part of a joint project of the Flute Studio, Historical Performance, Music History, the Conservatory Library, and the Selch Collection.

Faculty include:
Michael Lynn, historical flutes, project director

Alexa Still, modern flute

David Breitman, fortepiano

Tom Moore, lecturer
