She finds herself in a fractured world where nothing is as it seems. Gertrude runs a brothel, Hamlet is called Rude Boy, Horatio is an embittered wrestler, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are two ghostly guardians of memory. Within this cold landspace, Ophelia struggles to cut a new path and awaken her long buried voice.
12 Ophelias explores the cycles of violence that dominate women’s lives by giving voice to one of Shakespeare’s most silenced heroines.
