Poetry is a Verb: Mark Nowak

"Poetry is a Verb" will be presented by documentary poet and labor historian Mark Nowak.

Mark Nowak is the author of Coal Mountain Elementary (about the Sago Mine disaster, WV) and Shut Up Shut Down, which chronicles the closing of a Ford Plant in the upper Midwest.  His most recent projects engage with migrant laborers, including collaboration with  the Coalition of Immokalee Workers. 

Event is cosponsored by ENVS, the Creative Writing Program, the comparative American studies program, the English department, and the sociology department through the J. Milton Yinger Lectureship Fund.
