Hallock Auditorium, Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environmental Studies
122 Elm Street, Oberlin, OH 44074
The public will have another opportunity to hear from Paul Allen of Zero Carbon Britain; Hans Lehmann of Project ZERO (Denmark); and David Gard, Oberlin Project executive director, about creating a carbon-free future. This panel discussion will be followed by a light reception and music in the AJLC atrium. This presentation is a great opportunity to hear cutting-edge ideas from Europe about energy and climate.
Paul Allen will share how the Zero Carbon Britain project is linking smart approaches to food production, diet, buildings, transport, energy, and land use to reduce emissions fast enough to prevent serious climate change.
Hans Lehmann will share information about Sonderborg’s (Denmark) progress toward a sustainable society, and how education can be seen as a driver for change.
David Gard will share how the aim of the Oberlin Project is to revitalize the local economy, eliminate carbon emissions, restore local agriculture, food supply, and forestry, and create a new, sustainable base for economic and community development.
