The TV Writers Studio MFA Program at Long Island University Brooklyn offers a pre-professional degree in writing and producing for television, conducted on the Steiner Studio TV and Film production lot in the old Brooklyn Navy Yard. This program, pioneered by Hollywood veteran Norman Steinberg ("Blazing Saddles," "My Favorite Year," "The Cosby Show"), is designed to give the showrunners of tomorrow the unique experience of developing an actual television series from the pitch to the collaborative creation of two series pilots and on to a full season of individually-crafted episodes for an original show.
Stephen Molton '71, screenwriter, novelist, and former Showtime and HBO exec, will be at Oberlin on Tuesday April 9 to discuss this exciting graduate school option with writers, filmmakers, thespians and journalists from all related disciplines.
