If you're interested in machine consciousness, science fiction, or strange romantic comedies, you should come out to a screening and discussion of Her at the Apollo this Wednesday (3/5) at 6:50pm! It's a movie about a man who falls in love with his "Operating System," which is really just a smartphone that develops a personality. Sound implausible? Come and find out for yourself!
At 6pm, Neuroscience professor Albert Borroni will be giving a talk on basic neuroscience in King 121. Pizza will be served. From there, we'll walk to the Apollo and see the movie. Afterwards, Professor Borroni will be hosting a discussion at Slow Train for anyone who's interested.
Everybody must buy their own ticket, but if we have 15 or more people, the price drops from $6.50 to $5 each. Since it's on a Wednesday night, we can get tickets at the door, but you should bring CASH because the Apollo's credit card machine is broken.
